Embrace of the Unborn Moon emerged from a quiet collision of memory, instinct, and a long fascination with the unseen processes of becoming. The initial spark did not come from a single moment, but from a recurring internal image: something not yet formed, yet already loved. The “unborn moon” in the title is not literally celestial, but symbolic of a presence that is cyclical, inevitable, and quietly powerful. By imagining it as “unborn,” I wanted to explore a state before influence, before gravity, before even light— The choice of oil on canvas was deliberate and essential to achieving this effect. It has a unique capacity for depth and subtlety. This was important because the subject itself is about emergence and fluidity. I needed a medium that could mirror that sense of slow formation, of shapes dissolving into one another. With oil, I could build the image in layers, letting each onr partially obscure and partially believe what lies beneath.
