I am Arpita Biswas Dasgupta, a contemporary visual artist from Jharkhand, India. My artistic practice explores stillness, emotions, inner awareness, and the unseen connections between human experiences. Working mainly in contemporary impressionism, I create artworks that blend expressive textures, layered surfaces, and intuitive forms.
My paintings often reflect themes of emotional shelter, healing, spirituality, human bonds, and self-discovery. Through muted tones, flowing movements, and cocoon-like textures, I try to create a quiet space where viewers can pause, reflect, and connect with their own emotions. I believe every artwork carries an inner journey — something to be felt beyond what is visible.
I hold a Master’s degree in Fine Arts and have exhibited my works at several national and international platforms, including Lalit Kala Academy New Delhi, ICCR Gallery Kolkata, Academy of Fine Arts Kolkata, Emami Art Gallery, and International Art Festival FOCUS, Bangladesh. I have received recognitions including the Gold Medal at Avantika Art Competition, New Delhi, and Nandansree Award, Kolkata.
Alongside my studio practice, I work as an art educator and have collaborated on creative projects as an illustrator and storyboard artist. Through my paintings, I aim to create a sense of calm, emotional connection, and timeless reflection for collectors and viewers.
