*Artist Statement for Online Competition*

*Title:* Madhur Murali
*Medium:* Acrylic on Canvas Board
*Size:* 6 x 8 inch
*Style:* Indian Folk Art
*Artist Statement (80-100 words):*
_Madhur Murali_ captures Lord Krishna’s divine dance through his most iconic symbols - the lifted blue foot, the horizontal bansuri, and the peacock feather crown. I deliberately cropped the figure to focus on movement, because Krishna’s _leela_ is felt in rhythm more than form.
Inspired by Madhubani and Indian folk traditions, I used bold black outlines and flat, vibrant acrylic colors against a lime green field. The black border contains the energy, like music held within a raga.
For me, this painting is where spirituality meets celebration. It honors Braj culture, where every step is devotion and every note is prayer. Through folk art, I keep our mythology alive in contemporary color.

*Short Version - if form has 50 word limit:*
_Madhur Murali_ portrays Krishna’s dancing form in Indian folk style. Using acrylic and bold outlines, I highlight the flute, peacock feather, and blue foot to symbolize divine music and joy. This work celebrates _bhakti_, Braj culture, and the rhythm of Indian spiritual tradition.
