I painted this piece as a dialogue between concealment and identity. At first glance, you see the familiar elegance of a classical figure—yet the face is deliberately obscured, wrapped in soft folds that both protect and silence. I wanted to challenge the idea of recognition: how much of a person do we truly see, and how much do we assume?
The layered fabrics became my language here. Each stroke of blue, yellow, and white carries movement and weight, contrasting with the stillness of the covered face. I focused on light slipping across the folds, allowing texture and shadow to speak where expression is hidden. The earring and subtle hints of color near the neck serve as quiet reminders that individuality persists, even when identity is masked.
